Comments: Reduces 1,3,6,8-tetrahydroxynaphthalene to scytalone and also reduces 1,3,8-trihydroxynaphthalene to vermelone. Involved with EC 126.96.36.199 scytalone dehydratase in the biosynthesis of melanin in pathogenic fungi.
